My brother started DesignChat (http://www.DesignChat.info) April of  this year and it has grown incredibly in a very short amount of time.
Every week, on Wednesday night at 8PM CST he interviews the top talent  and some of the greatest minds in design. I'm really proud of Ryan for  what he is creating and I can't wait to see how far it goes. Check out  Ryan on twitter: http://www.twitter./com/hupajoob & http://www.twitter.com/designchat

On the subject of children

I used to yell at my kids all the time.

It was an easy instant reaction groomed through years of being on the receiving end of similar reactions as a child. It's far too easy to expect far too much from your kids. I always keep my elbows off the table, chew with my mouth shut, hold my utensils properly  and eat over my plate, so after just one warning, I would yell at the kids for not complying perfectly. There were hundreds of other situations just like this that are too easy not to recognize as a parent.

Children need repitition and guidance to create good habits, and yelling makes them focus on fear more than the task or rule at hand.

I still have a lot of rules for my kids, and they grow more complex as they learn and adapt, I've just learned that how those rules are presented make all the difference in the world. I now think of my role as a teacher of life, rather than the king of my roost. My job is to help them learn how to grow, rather than punishing them for doing anything wrong.

Great Idea: Open a restaurant called ROFLWAFFLE

Basic American-style restaurant with waffles as the specialty. Free wifi, table-rentable laptops for surfing and sell disposable plastic laptop covers to save users from syrup spills.
All wall artwork would be XKCD, Amazing Super Powers, Penny-Arcade, Ctrl+Alt+Del, etc.
What else would make a place like that a success?

A.M.E.W.F.U.S.C.

Architecture for Multiple E-commerce Websites Functioning Under A Single Core. It will take some time to come to fruition, and I'm excited as hell about it.
